As I move further into my thirties, I find myself reflecting more intentionally on the decisions I made in my twenties. If I could offer my younger self one piece of guidance, it would be this:

Begin building digital assets, and do so with consistency.

At the time, this advice would likely have felt abstract or unnecessary. Yet, with the benefit of hindsight and experience, I now see how profoundly this single habit can shape long-term career resilience and personal growth.

When we talk about assets, we often default to tangible or financial ones: property, vehicles, savings, or investments. These are important, but they are no longer the only forms of value that compound over time 🎯.

Digital assets are creations that live online and can continue to generate value well beyond the moment they are produced.

These may include a newsletter, long-form articles, videos, a personal website, or a thoughtfully curated portfolio of work. When nurtured over time, digital assets benefit from a powerful multiplier: longevity.

Unlike a résumé that must be continually rewritten or a single social post that quickly disappears, digital assets accumulate context, credibility, and relevance. In this sense, time becomes an advantage.

A reasonable question often arises: Why is it necessary for others to know who I am? For many people, particularly those who are employed, the answer may seem unclear at first.

However, the past few years have demonstrated how professional stability can change. Advances in AI, industry disruptions, and large-scale layoffs have altered the employment landscape. When individuals are unexpectedly forced back into the job market, they often face intense competition alongside thousands of equally qualified candidates.

In these moments, digital assets can quietly differentiate you 🔥.

A body of public work—whether it demonstrates your thinking, learning process, or domain expertise—offers others insight beyond job titles and credentials. It provides context for how you approach problems and how you evolve over time.

This kind of visibility often builds trust before a conversation ever begins, making people more inclined to connect, recommend, or hire.

For entrepreneurs, digital assets are not simply helpful; they are foundational.

Regardless of the business model, every venture depends on the ability to communicate value and establish trust 🤝. Content, in its many forms, often serves as the primary bridge between what you offer and the people who need it.

If I could return to my twenties, I would begin documenting what I was learning: perhaps through a simple YouTube channel or written platform. I would share academic insights, internship experiences, early career lessons, and reflections along the way.

This practice would require consistency and humility, but it would also create a meaningful archive of growth. It would benefit both myself and others navigating similar paths 💡.

You do not need to wait until you feel fully prepared to begin. Digital assets are not about perfection; they are about progression 🌱.

When built with intention and care, they grow alongside you, and often more powerfully than expected.
